Title: 56 Kodiak Special question....see pics
Post by: TimZeigler on August 13, 2009, 09:47:00 PM
I mentioned this in the KS collectors topic, but wanted to post seperately.  I'll copy any pertinent info over to that topic if I can get an answer here.

Check out the pics of the two 56 Kodiak Specials. One is a 64" and the other a 68".  Pay close attention to the decals.  Any ideas as to whether the 68" were marked differently as far as location (belly as opposed to back)?

Tim -  All of my 56 and 57 Kodiak Specials are marked on the belly, but I wouldn't place too much store in the side of the bow that is marked as accidents happen in factories. There are lots of mismarked Bear bows out there.

The NFAA water transfer decal was put on many items by many bowmen in the 1940s through the 1960s. These guys were proud to be NFAA members. I have seen many bows with the NFAA sticker on them and have a few myself including a T/D Grumley Deerslayer.
