I saw a white truck in Hackensack ,NJ this morning with all kinds of trad stickers on it. One was NJ bowmen sticker.I pulled in front of him so he could see my Tradgang sticker. Are you a member here, or anyone know this guy? Just curious.
In Hackensack? Jerry what were you doing in Hackensack?
I work there Bent.
He might be.....
Really!? Where at Hackensack Hospital?
I was born in Hackensack. I worked there 20+ years ago at my Uncle Ted's business on Rail Road Ave. I haven't been down that way in years. Hackensack can be a tough area if ya know what I meen.Floods pretty bad down by the county jail too when it rains heavy. I have another Uncle who works at the jail but he don't shoot any type of bows.
We have to find this guy.
Jerry was the truck a white Ford. No cap. Might be the same guy I ran into at our public land spot Bentpole.
Ive seen that truck before...I work for the hospital.
If ya ever see a red pickup with hunting stickers and a maltese cross (fireman) in the center thats me heh.
Boy Deadbolt, you have a pretty long drive to the hospital from the pines of south jersey. I'm about 25 miles west of Hackensack on Rt 80. I'm also a firefighter like you.
White ford, black cap.
Jerry, want to come winter bow with Bentpole and I?

i hope my new limbs are ready by then!!!
Matty, Winter bow doesn't start till January 1st. I'm down for a shoot.
Hec Yeh! If anyone wants to get together Winter Bow in Jersey Let's Do It! Me and Bucky can still hunt with the gun guys in zone 2. I have to work this Saturday though.
Sal, there is a lot of places we can go for sure.Larry likes Wildcat Ridge, Bamboobender and Joe Skipp hunt Stokes during the winter. We've been trying to get them down on OLD MINE ROAD. Hopefully we can all get together.Wallpack, Flatbrook -Roy. So much land so little time.
You mean Bamboo...and Southpawshooter...don't leave Scott out...he cooks us Breakfast!! Can't wait for some snow...get on a good trail and stillhunt. Drives...they can be real sucessful if done right. Especially with the number of deer thats running around down there.
I'd like to hook up for some hunting around Flatbrook/ Walpack. I know few places along the river we could do some walk throughs, and set up a couple guys on the end.
Sorry Joe! Yeh don't forget Southpawshooter!!! Sorry Folks.Jerry that's a nice piece to push all those overgrown fields down by Wallpack.
I wonder if they ever cut that corn on Old Mine Road.
i hunt zone 2 with gun but ill take the 3 hour trip for this event!!
Flatbrook/ Walpack is the place right?
So what the first or second Saturday in January 2008
Count me in even though I like my Wild Cat WMA in good old Morris County. I would suggest keeping this area open as an option. Lots of room there for us to stand hunt. I even know some areas we could do a few drives.
Flat brook
Walpack
Wild Cat
lets get 1 more WMA & maybe the last Saturday of January or the First Saturday of Febuary.. This gives time for others to join in...
Winter bow 2008 (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=35&t=000050) here is a thread where we can plain this get together hunt.
I was born in Hackensack, grew up in Oradell and Glen Rock until 1985, then moved to Maryland. Hunted Flatbrook/Walpack all my life until i moved. I loved it there and would like to hunt it again before I leave this earth. Been here ever since. My family is still there though.
Rich, Roadtrip?
ya'll let me know when and ill be sure to make it!!
Yeah, I would like to hunt Flatbrook again. I will plan on trying to do a roadtrip 2008. I have taken some nice bucks on those steep ridges back on the late 70's early 80's. A good friend of mine scattered the ashes of his nephew up there. The late young man hunted with me and his uncle a few times back in the day.
Sorry guys. Some difficulties just came up and I will not be able to afford the new license this year. Since my PA license is good unitl summer, I guess I'll be stuck over here.
Sorry to hear that Jerry. I was looking forward to meeting you.
I wish you guys could put up with a Fargo Accent, and gas wasn't $2.89 a gallon, I'd love to join this crew...
:campfire:

lol so he will grow old and die before an arrow ever comes near him :knothead:
well anyhoot we doing a hunt in zone 4 up by wallpack/flatbrook area? i haven't hunted them woods in 10 years...that was where i went hunting for the first time and haven't been back
I hunted up that way 2 years ago....
I used to take dates to the Walpack Inn. They would sit at the huge picture window there and comment on how beautiful the deer where out in the field. The entire time i am thinking of where I was gonna put a treestand in on the mountain. LOL
Food was great from what i remember.
My parents took me to "THE INN" for my birthday the last Saturday in November. The place was great as usual. A little pricey but the salad bar and the food is great. The lamb chops were perfect. A young man put the corn out at around 3:00 . The first 2 does came in at 3:30 and they walked the whole open field from the area of the Flatbrook to the back of the Inn.We finished up around 5:00 and had numbers of deer coming in.No bucks came in while I was there. The whole time saying to myself I know where that grove of pines is on the ridge over there. Mitchell take your big X-mas Bonus and buy an airplane ticket. I have plenty of room. Jerry that's too bad.If I didn't have to work in the AM I would shoot up to zone 2 and bow hunt with the gun guys.I haven't been out in a few weeks. We have to get together!Droptine can you make it up?
Just a question. Should we keep communicating on this thread or should we use the one that Sal has opened under NJ- Traditional Archers of NJ? I'm just trying to help keep things simple is all.
we can make plans in the NJ forum, then post When, Where & What time meet-up place.. This way other can see and join in.
10-4 men to the THREAD!
Uh where is it?
You replied in it.... about Whittingham...
