I think I've finally decided to sell off what's left of my collection and just keep the 50's Polars and the '59s. Too many bows on the rack that just haven't been shot much, and I'm losing the bow rack soon anyway (that room will be the new baby's room come January).
I do have a problem though - I'm afraid to hunt with my '59 Kodiak! It's just in too nice of shape to take into the thick brush. So...
Anyone have a 64"er in the 50-55# range they'd be willing to part with? Ah heck, does anyone have any '59-60s (Grizz, KS, Polar, Kodiak - No Pandas) in that weight range that need a new home?
Would you hunt with this?

Way cool,Some day when I grow up I want a collection that nice! Buy the way thanks again for the help dating my Polar. Harry

I doubt I'd want to drag it around in the elements without a new protective finish and it would be a sin to refinnish that one.
That rosewood is insane!!!!!!!

I would go ahead and let me have that fine 59. I promise to give it a good home.

I will call you in the morning about the other bows.

Sorry, I'd hunt with it. I'm really, really careful with my bows too though. I'm not sure what you could put on it to protect it short of a refinish, but it'd definetely see some woods time. (although maybe gentle woods time!)

Nice collection Jeremy.

Jeremy look at it this way, if you have a nice car. Lets just guess maybe its only a $10,000 model still. You still think nothing of leaving in a parking lot. For any moron to bang into, but you consider not taking your bow into the woods??? Where you have total control of it???? Granted you don't pole vault creeks with your bows, it was made to be enjoyed, shot & admired!!
JMHO every else's may vary :archer:

Brent, no pole vaulting, but I have been known to throw my bow out of the brush to untangle myself :)
Up soon will be '55, '56 and '57 Kodiaks and '56 and '57 KSpecials. Possibly my '53 Grizz too. I think that gets me down to just the '59 Grizz, Kodiak and KSpecial and my '55, '56, '57, and 2 '59 Polars plus my TD from 1980(or so). A far cry from the 50 bows that were on the rack - and no where near the collection some of you guys have!!
I still need a '58 Polar and a nicer '57 and at the very least a backup '59 Grizz. Anybody?

that's a real beauty you have there. choose the right time and place and take her to the woods. she is 50 this year ya gotta dance with her at least once. :D

Reminds me how I was cringing watching Fred wading the stream in the little delta video
using the bow as a wading stick.
Jeremy, I'm PMing about the '57 Kodiak
-
Well, I have a '59 Grizz heading my way :)

The '59 Grizz came in yesterday. The glass is in decent shape with just a few stress lines worth mentioning. The riser is cracked along the I-beam though and it opens up some when the bow is strung. Looks like the joint was starved of glue during glue-up. So there will be a repair and complete refinish in the near future!
