Hi guys! Ive been lurking around this site the last few days and decided to join. Decided its time to lose the training wheels and start hunting! Im looking for a recurve bow and dont know where to start. Hardly anyone around here stocks any other than Cabelas and BP. Ive looked and shot a few and they felt a little cheap. I want to stay around 300-500. If I go much more I might as well get a BW. I shot one a few years ago and loved it. Dont really have a G to put down on one right now. I have a 26" draw and Im going to shoot instinctivly. Would like to pull around 46-48 lbs. Gonna hunt whitetails, maybe elk and moose in the future since I have a friend that is ate up w/ the bigger critters right now. Thought I might get a takedown so I could move up in limb power later. Any suggestions would be great! I shoot split fingers. I had a longbow long enough to shoot a squirrel w/ it. I like the recurves better. Thanks guys!!
There are plenty of great bows on this site's classifieds. Every bow feels a little different and without the chance to shoot them first it may be a trial and error basis. Thus, used is the way to go because you can usually re-sell them for pretty much what you paid for them if you take care of it. Good luck.
I second the classifieds. Welcome to the gang!!
