Title: Needed:Bear threaded quiver insert!
Post by: Takedown on August 04, 2009, 01:37:00 PM
Hello To Everyone.
I am turning to you folks to see if I can locate a Bear, threaded quiver bushing (as mounted on the riser for mounting 4-arrow Bear quivers (one spring arm and bolt-tab variety).

I have a 1970(I think) Kodiak Hunter I am refinishing, and would love to install a quiver bushing on the front of the riser. I really like the Bear 4-Arrow "bolt-on" quivers.

So How about it??

Thanks,
Harry.

Joe St. Charles sells them on the auction site occasionally.  They are kinda pricey, but you may want to check with him.

Sometimes they can be found on some of the less desirable bows and can be pilfered from them.  Plug the hole and replace the grip.

Someone here may also have a couple laying around.

I'd be intersted in buying or trading for a couple also if someone finds a drawer full of them.   :bigsmyl:

You can buy the same size brass insert from many suppliers. It will not be the exact same one as Bear used, but since it's going in a K-Hunter that would have most likely not seen this type of insert, and will be covered by the quiver, why not? Just a suggestion, CKruse

Hello Ckruse,
Which Archery suppliers handle quiver inserts for the front of the riser? I think some have the inserts used for quiver mounting (ie: quickee quivers) to the side of the risers, I havn't seen any for the "front of riser-Bear bolt on variety".
Any info would be helpful!
Thanks,
Harry

How about this... is this what you're talking about... we always called it the stabilizer bushing... but had a Super K that I had a quiver for that bolted to it at one time...

Even if you install this stabilizer insert you will need the wrap-around adapter for the Bear Quiver.

I thought I had a picture some place!
Here's the quiver you are describing along with the adapter you will need.

I should have qualified that. Not archery suppliers, but industrial suppliers of hardware. Such as Fastenall, etc. If you do a Google search for brass inserts I'm sure you will locate a bunch. CKruse

Hi Guys,
Thanks to all for the responses! I already have and use 3 bear 4-Arrow Quivers and a couple of 8 arrow quivers on my bows. I am refinishing an old K-Hunter which dosent have a bushing. I have several of the "L" brackets for mounting.

I will contact 3-rivers, (thanks twigflicker)and order a couple of their bushings.

If anyone can still come up with an original Bear bushing, I would also be interested in that as well!
Thanks again,
Harry.

Good deal Harry...

I'd forgotten about the little L-bracket like Ron showed... Mine broke where the quiver attached to it... the bolt broke loose and I tried to epoxy and it never would stay put...
