John & Cody - If you are serious about owning one, save your money for a nice first year Type I Bear Takedown, either an A or B, what ever you like best.
Risers like the ones listed on the A & B Serial Number threads are the ones you want to own. They are the ones that are truly collectible.
All the later T/D Risers with green stripe, blue stripe, etc., can not hold a candle to the originals for their collectability.
While these new ones may function just fine, their real value will never be more than a fraction of the originals.

What Wade sayed, plus they are in good conditions but in the last few months there are been other similar that are not been sold for the half. These are pretty expensive. In Feb(I guess) a signed one went for 1000$
-
Yes save your money boy's both those may be a bit overpriced..bd

Thanks guys! My untrained eye sure didn't know what it was looking at. I will pull up the pics on the other thread and compare side by side. Not interested in these but really looking to learn about them. So these ones listed aren't the "same" as the ones listed in the B riser thread? Not too be too dumb but how do you tell? Thanks again I truly appreciate it.

John, the original TD's have the flush in coin, fruit wood riser different shape handle, made in Grayling, and have serial #s from1xxx to 2999.The second serie has the arised coin futurwood wood riser, made in Fl.They are still good risers but not at the same level as the original ones, anyway better than nothing if you find them at the right price. My guess is from 400 to 600 $.They are been made just in the B riser style.

Felix, GRAZIE!!! Thank you my friend. John
-
felix was that a sined original or Green stripe?
if it was a greenstripe I may have to put one on ****.
I bid on an original b handle with two sets of limbs in the case with the original Fred Bear Sportsman CLub patch on teh case about a year ago and bid up to 1300 (all I had in the bank) and it went for a little more than that (one or two bids over me). I wish I woudl have bought that bow. I really want an original handle...but I am very content with my green stripe autographed handle.
-
HOLY CRAP!!! Just looked at the bows listed....WOW...
-
toehead,it was a 1985 or later already with the grey laminations.and the same seller in the same days offered a similar bow at 800$ "Buy it now" that went unsold. The Fred signed one sold riser only for 999.0.In the same days there were 2 Type 1 A risers offered complete at 1500 each Buy it now unsold. If they were LH they were sold in seconds,I know an Italian guy that want them bad:me
