-
ttt

C riser, RH, sn C-1690, original finish, brown bears, berger button w/magnetic rest, signed by Fred Bear. Lamont
-
yahoo I found a C riser I worked on the serial number is C-1718 total restoration and she's lefthanded..bd
-
I'll ask again. Are we adding the 1973 Victor Custom Viking to the "C" list ??
-
Moose - Bernie is the man in charge of the list. If you send him a PM, I'm sure he will answer you. We may have put him on overload for awhile with giving him all three lists A-B-C. He may not want to expand any of the lists beyond the initial 1969 to 1972 dates. That is his call.
Now, you could always start another thread for the 1973 Victor Custom Viking...
While you are at it, if Doc isn't going to start one for the limbs, you could do that too... Hopefully nobody will notice how I am trying to volunteer everyone else to do the work...
-
Oops...wasn't thinking I had the power of yeah or nay.
Sorry for the delay Moooseran. I'll tell you what, let's add it here, I'll put it in a separate spot, and if we get a bunch of them we'll spin off another thread because they went for a few years...let's see how many we get.
Deal?
What're yer specs?

-
Abear,
Another great pic. Thanks for sharing. And it looks like Moose's Victor Custom Viking will have company in its special spot on the list.
Wow, I could just look at that great wood collection all day long.
I sent ya a PM.

All I have to do is find my 2 "C" riser. I hid them and have to remember where........moose
-
Great Moose,
Kinda like a friend of mine who bought a new safe for the garage. He hid his torch head when he went on vacation so the bad guys couldn't use it to bust the safe. Took him 6 weeks to find the torch head when he got back!
Good luck finding the riser. As long as you are at it, please make some pics--'em r beautious!

Here's one to add to the list as well. While on vacation I met an old-time bowhunter with a number of old bear bows. His C handle takedown was right handed and had the original finish in great shape. A site had been added but the stabilizer bushing was factory installed I believe. Serial #C-1832
-
DLM and Steven, thanks for the additions.
Sorry for the delay in getting them up.
Doc, let's get back at it, you need a distraction!
Bernie

JUST GOT ONE RH C-1590 MAGNETIC REST AND MINT
-
Mine is RH C-1364. Has a small Bear flipper rest and has three screws front and back with the middle screw being larger must of been for a sight. Also has a place for a stabelizer as you might imagine. Brown Bears on the latches.
Mint condition.
-
Glad I searched and found this C-Riser list! I have two, both RH, mint/original with stabilizer bushings, magnetic rests but I shoot off of the shelves. C-2403 bought from a buddy, the original owner, back in the mid 80's. C-1131 bought off the big auction site 2 months ago. In original bear takedown case w/white dimpled limbs, long stabilizer, Bear-Jeffery Omni bowsite, brown bear on the latches. Both beautiful bows!!
-
Bernie
I have C # 1364 Original Finish, RH, stab ins, inlayed flipper. Obviously with Brown Bears and tapped for a stabilizer.

Was just directed to this post-
I have C-1360 LH and C-1424 RH Both original finish RH is missing the 'brown' bears on the back of the latches.

Hello all, new to this forum. I was just gifted this C riser takedown. It's C-1021, with B stamped after the serial number. I think that indicates it was purchased by a Bear employee. I have the original matching number limbs, string with old peep and kisser button, and sight. It all comes in the original case with a few broadheads. She's in beautiful shape and shoots like a dream with a new string.

I have a C-1148 riser. Do not know how to post pics.
-
Earlier this year or late last year i managed to get my hands on a bear take down. The type ive been wanting since i was probably 7 or 8. Since i grew up to be fairly tall, when i started my search i decided to look for a c riser, and found one.
It seems to be a 1969 or 70 model, with a serial number of C-1169. It seems to still have the original finish on it. It also still has the original magnetic rest and berger button. Also installed is a adapter for a stab which i believe was done at the factory. The only modifications i see on it is 3 screw holes on the belly of it and 3 on the back from a sight mount. It came with an old jennings sight installed. It does still have the brown bears on the latches too.
The white tip limbs it came with seem to have been refinished with what looks like a gloss white before the finish was reapplied. The limb serial does not match the riser so i suspect that the limbs were either traded for or a replacement set was gotten for it for one reason or other. I wanted to let you know so you could update your list of known c risers, if need be. I can try to get good pics if needed.

Workaholic 1-
Sounds like a nice find.Just to let you know, the risers did not come with matching serial number limbs. Some guys, like myself, find it to be another fun part of collecting Bear risers and limbs to find a riser and a set of matching numbered limbs. But both could be bought separately. So your limbs may or may not have been bought with your riser.
-
Thank you for that input. I wondered why the limbs had a serial just north of 2200. That explains it. The limbs are a nice light 33@28, which allows for a good form bow. I may eventually look for a set of heavier limbs, too.
