Title: Grumley pictures

Well guys, I had these pictures and wasn't certain what value they might have to regular visitors of this forum, but will post them anyway.

There were taken a number of years ago at Cloverdale and I believe they were in the collection of Northwest Archery.

Charlie - Nice photographs.

Your photographs are actually part of the late John Grumley's Collection of bows made by his father, Nels Grumley who was Fred Bear's first bowyer.

John's collection of his father's bows was the most extensive collection of Grumley Bows ever assembled at the time.

This is a photo of John Grumley in front of part of his collection at Compton a few years back... Unfortunately, the photograph was taken in front of some cases of bows that are not Grumley bows... If only we could go back in time and re-take some of those photographs...

Those are great pics, Charlie! I have the same ones from the GLLI in Berrien Springs in the early 90s! John was there also. Grumley's are rare, but we have some great bowyers out there at this time, that can make a great replica! I don't like saying "replica" because everyone is  a great creation of the design  and use of the gift of mother nature the, wood! Bowyers such as Gene McGlashen, an other Michianer and John McCullough make great replicas. Tom phillips talked of a bow he had, made by John Brooks of Indiana! There are many great craftsman that can create this style of bow, and we should be happy to have them in our mist. And let's hope that more desire to build this traditional style to come.
