Title: Kodiak
Post by: nashwaaker on July 01, 2009, 10:42:00 PM
I posted this once in another forum and it was suggested I post it in this one also.
I purchased this bow recently and trying to find out information on it.
Believe it's a 1965 Kodiak?
serial number 5L6147
60" 52#

Yes, your bow is a 1965 Kodiak. Nice bow.

The Bear Spring Arm bow Quiver has the Long Arm on it.

You even have a 1950s/60s Bear Arm Guard. I still use one just like it.

A memebr gave me this info from a book he had
"'65 bow has olive gray glass and a bubinga riser with Brazilian rosewood caps"
Would that be accurate?
I think the whole set up was bought at the same time and rarely if ever used.

Looks like golden rosewood caps. Were they Brazilian or African rosewood?
Very nice combo!

Your potential bidders on the auction site know what kind of wood it is.

Starting price may be a tad too high

With a starting price right around double what they are currently bringing, the caps on this one better be 14 karat gold!
If you are going to pick the knowledge here to better your sale and make you sound like you have a clue in your auction description, you should be up front and say you are selling it. To do otherwise just breeds contempt. JMHO, CKruse

That wasn't my intention....sorry for causing a ruckus, I posted it here a few weeks back in another form, had a few offers to purchase it so i wanted to find out more and what the real value was.
Not sure what trap means but if it means trying to rip people off that's not the inetntion.

Just used Riches link to look at a LOT of different rosewoods from everywhere, nothing specific about golden rosewood but a few were similar, cant nail it down for sure yet. Anyone know where Fred was buying from?

thanks for the help. I think the ones who emailed offers from another site were either A) trying to scam me or B) exremely genorous.
Again thanks.
