I've seen so many nice bows from members on here, I was just curious as to what some of you use as your favorite/main go-to bow whether it be for hunting, 3d tournements, or just backyard shooting?
-
45# Howatt Hunter
-
O there so many just yesterday I was shooting my 1962 BP javalina 57#. But I sure like my 67 mustang @56# now witch one well I guess I'll shoot some more this evening and see which ones :D
-
I can imagine. After viewing the bows in some of the posts from guys like Bowdoc and Wade Phillips, I bet those guys have a tough time deciding! It would almost be like, do I take the Jag today or the Ferrari?

50# Super Kodiak Red stripe

1962 Kodiak 45#

Border Black Douglas

Style I Bear B riser Takedown w/no.1 limbs. 60" 66#@28. Modified by Bowdoc and me. (http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff82/ygrant87/Picture004.jpg)

Darn- That's too big. Gonna be pulled- sorry guys. I tried to edit but the function is temporarily restricted to moderators. Shoot, I hate messing up. Grant
-
Well mine is sure not that purdy, but she shoots as good.. I use a Mag A with 52# #3 Red tips and a modified 4 arrow quiver.. Typically shoot 2018 or 2020 AO's
-
For the past couple years my go to has been this 1960 Kodiak 60" 52#
(http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa277/DUCK_TRAP/08huntinggear002.jpg)
I'm starting to get really attached to the "junker" Doc restored for me recently. A 49# 60" 59 Kodiak

Grant - Why do you have all that white stuff under the quiver bracket where it attaches to the bow?
-
I gotta say my custom B riser and any limbs.
Hey Wade Grants got the leather under his quiver bracket because I keep charing him full price to remove the spike marks.bd
-
Unfortunately that's true Wade, LOL. That was a temporary pad under the quiver bracket. Its no longer there. GY

I'm in a quandry as I have 3 in mind for this year:
1962 Kodiak 50#
1968 Super Kodiak 48#
1970s-ish Hoyt Pro Hunter 50#
I shot the Hoyt a lot before my injury but have not shot the other two much so I must wait to recover and then do some testing. The Hoyt is fast, hits hard and shoots where I look though and I have a lot of confidence in it.
-
I'm really wanting to use my 59 Kodiak this year, but my Black Widows (can I say that here?) have always been so dependable in past years.
-
Hello!!!!! Lon :knothead: It's 2009, using the 59 is a no brainer

Well, since it's "No-Brains" required...this year it's MY '59 Kodiak! :knothead:
...with the ocassional carrying of my new Kodiak T/D Supreme 'cause I LIKE IT!! ;)
...and just for "giggles", and because it shoots so damn well- I know my McCullough 59r will see some action as well!!

Aw HELL, right now I've got about 15 "go-to" bows and I plan on going-to all of them at least once during the season!!! :archer:

This year it will be a 1969 60" 53# Bear Super Kodiak :D ..........IJ
-
This year I will be hunting with a 40 year old Kodiak Hunter 55#. Neat bow and nice to be doing my part by using this fine bow. Seems right, I am sixty five and the bow is forty, to bad I did not have the sense to buy it when I was 15!
-
Mostly my B riser with #1 limbs 46lbs or my 71 Grizzly 46lbs.
-
My apologies to all the Bearmen here, but I go to my 52" 50# Red Wing Hunter. I just never make a bad shot with that bow, and I always say someday I'm going to slim down the grip, and if I ever did it probably would not shoot as well so I don't dare. And yep, with my Wing bolt on quiver. That's when my son's not home. Since he prefers the REd Wing too, I go to my Bear Kodiak 60something 50# and 60". Shoots em really well too. Just more bow to carry

my Appalchian Archery 64# recurve
Cocobolo riser and black locust limbs
-
My B mag riser with #3 Schafer limbs is a favorite. 54#. Also my purpleheart 55# Damon Howatt hunter is a favorite.
-
Gosh!!! after reading the previous posts I guess I'll have to commit sacrilege and say I "go to" my PMA widow. Would love to shoot the Bears but Fred didn't make a bow for knuckledraggers that pull 31 inches.
-
most always end up grabbing a '75 blue stripe Super Kodiak @ 45#.
-
My go-to's are a pair of Widows...PLV and a PSRV. But when I feel "vintage",I usually grab my 55# Super Necedah...or a 50# Browning Nomad Stalker II ,or a 51# NS I

My 62" 49# Predator. Or my 64" 48# 67.5 Super K.
-
Magnesium A riser with 53# No. 2 red tip limbs, or No. 3 58# white tips.
-
Niiiiice Grant!
-
Great pics on this thread. For me, I am currently useing a 1959 Grizzly. I will switch to a 1960 Grizzly for Deer.
-
Bear TD -- My mag A with 50 pound limbs -- seems to be the one I want to shoot the most these days.
-
Right now I'm shooting 59 Bear Alaskan and loving it. I'll be hunting Turkey next week with it. Keep you posted on how I do. Scott
