Post by: wasapt on May 11, 2009, 08:47:00 PM
I am trying to date a bear Kodiak bow, serial number 5AG 149 I am ordering the catalog on disc but I don't have it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Others will be along that know much more than I, but I've read that for a certain time period in the 1960's, they used the last digit of the year as the first digit in the serial number (5=1965).  My two cents, anyway:-)!

Gosh, things may get tough, but I don't think I'd have any real trouble dating a Kodiak bow. Kodiak Beau, maybe....   :D

Sorry, couldn't resist.

As I recall 1964,5 and 6 Kodiaks follow the convention as outlined by Ron, above.
