Cody, the stories I heard, and keep in mind they are just hearsay, was that Swinehart had been under the care of a VA doctor that had him all screwed up on psych-meds. I've personally seen and worked a number of suicides in 15 years of being in law enforcement. It's always hard to understand. I have seen cases where changes in medication, or a lack of taking a prescribed medication led to disaster.

We always want to think the best of those we look up to in any regard. My memories of Bob Swinehart will always be centered in the quick wit and cool bravery shown in his many articles and in the books Sagittarius and In Africa. CKruse

O thanks CKruse... Mr. Swinehart has been one of my heros even before Howard Hill.. But Bon will always be the one who got me shooitng the longbow....   He was a great man and did many great things for archery just like the rest of them.. I hope you guys dont mind me posting them...

Thanks for sharing Cody.  Interesting information.  I've always been a fan of Bob Swinehart's as well.
