Title: Older Shakespeare

I know this one won't set hearts afflutter but it is an interesting old Shakespeare RH300 62" 50# bow.  Original finish and leather on handle.  The wine color glass is unusual and it grows on you after a while.  Before my elbow problem I was able to shoot 5 arrows into a pie plate at 30 yards and it shoots with authority.  Any information of the year would be appreciated.

59 or 60. They were really nice old bows that paid homage to the Kodiak and Grizzly of the same vintage. I've seen several over the years and have always thought they were great looking bows. CKruse

Shakespeare bows are good solid shooters.  They are more desirable now than when they were new.  Back then, they were considered a poor man's bow, like YORK or Stemmler.  Bear, Pearson, Wing, and others had the name, so most archers snubbed the "lesser brand bows".

They have stood the test of time and are getting more popular all the time.  Yours looks a lot like an old apearso, and every bit as good.

Nice looking bow, I was watching one not long ago on the auction site. Check this one out  200323992222 brought some nice money I thought!

Actually it does sorta set my heart aflutter because I fish with a 1951 Wonderrod flyrod. Funny, I didn't make the connection until I saw the WonderBow label on your bow.

And actually just now I realize that maybe I am living in the wrong era...I shoot a flintlock rifle, old Bear recurves and fish with '51 flyrod...sheesh.

That is a beautiful old bow and a great hunting weight. How does she shoot?

We have another thing in common.  I have two old Wonderods myself, a fly rod with a Shakespeare automatic reel and a spinning rod from the same era as the bow.  I shoot flinters also.

It shoots real nice.  It hits hard and is accurate.

That's the same bow I have but left hand hence the LH300 model number.  Interesting.

Kind of reminds me of the 58 Kodiak special. I like it.
