Title: The "Coin Pirate" strikes again

I think I've found a new avatar.

Was doing a little back yard shooting and got this pic of my daughter.  Not bad form for a 5 yr old huh? I tell her she shoots like a goirl all the time. Her reply is "maybe you should try it".  Ah..from the mouths of babes.

The coin was not actually pirated.  I found it in my yard last summer about a week after this Little Bear had been last shot.  Nice aluminum coin.  My daughter reminds me everytime she shoots that reinstalling it is on my "to-do" list.

I actually offered her a nice shiny gold replacement 3 Rivers coin but she respectfully declined my gracious offer.  She'll be a tough collector to negotiate with down the road.

Great, even a 5-year-old shoots better than me!

Really nice pic, Trap, and good coaching.

Hmmmm, some long distance coaching in your future perhaps?

And that's probably a 40-pound cub to boot...

Great job!

Thanks Guys, I am so fortunate to have a couple of up and coming archers in the family.  My 7 year old eats it up as well.

It amazes me that kids really dont need much coaching to get it right.  They just need an opportunity to shoot.  The only encouragement they need is an arrow striking the sweet spot every once in a while.  They seem to figure out pretty quick what works and what doesnt.

Hope I can keep them interested through the "being chased by boys" years.  It's pretty easy now, but I see challenges on the distant horizon.  LOL

Three girls--you will have your hands full Trap!!
It is when they start beating you at 3D by 25 points that you wished they'd have taken up tennis!!

You are absolutely correct on that one.  I found that out a couple of weeks ago teaching my grandsons to shoot.  They don't have to worry about aiming methods, deep hook, gap shooting or anything.  I just would tell them "shoot a little lower" or "shoot a little higher".  Gradually I added some form tips to work on but they got it pretty quickly.

Daryl....your daughter has nice form. Good to see the kids out shooting. You need to bring her to Denton Hill for the kid's balloon and stuffed animal shoot. It would only be a small vacation.

Trap, love that pic. It's so good to see kids starting out right. My daughter lost interest for awhile as a teen, but comes right back to it when she's home from school now.
My son has put down his compound and absconded with the '62 kodiak.
My grandaughter is one tommorow, time for a little bear yet?

Daryl
That is just a great picture.
Your girl looks like natural archer.
Made my morning.
