Title: Flitemaster Bows?

My better half found these while cleaning out her dad's stuff after he passed on.  He had this bow with him in Korea during the war and it's pretty much been sitting in it's cover since. Bow has a Flitemaster sticker and apparently is the Egyptian model.  No cracks or anything that I can find. Think it's ok to shoot?

wow thats a cool looking bow right there.I was just wondering if was made by Diamond ?? that may not be the correct spelling of the manufactures name.bowdoc

Neat piece right there. When I saw Flitemaster I immediately thought Drake but that obviously isn't the case. Can somebody tell us more? Wade- Bowdoc?                                   Grant

Form the pictures it looks to be in solid shape.  If so, shoot the crap out of it.  These old bows have stood the test of time.

Once you get it strung up,  pay attention to string allingment on both ends. Let it stay strung overnight before you try to pull it.

If all is OK, I would flex it a bit, then half draw, then three quarters.  Once you can come to full draw with it, it should be OK.  Pay attention to any wierd sounds while flexing and drawing.

The only concern that I would have is that if it has been sitting in the case since Korea, it may have gotten a bid dried out from no use.  Take it slow and easy.

Others here may give different advice about dealing with old unused bows.  Listen to them...they probably know better than me.

I have an old Tri-State Jaguar that has a similar design to riser.

As far as spelling, there is a sticker on the front that said "Flitemaster" and "Custom".  Only had one hit on this site for Flitemaster and the web seems oblivious to that name
 
Got a little more info from my gal.  Said she used to shoot it in her backyard on Long Island in the late 70s.  She says   she  is going to shoot it.  Maybe I can sneak in a few while setting it up for her.  :

The more I look at it the more it makes me think that it might be an old Tr-State Jaguar that has been refinished and the original markings are gone.  Do the lables for FLIGHMASTER and EGYPATIAN look like they are original, or could they have been put on after a refinish?

Took a closer look.  The labels are definitely decals but I can't see any indication that it had been refinished.  Though I honestly couldn't tell that either way everything including the dings appear to original.
