I purchased these Arrows Quiver and 2 bows recently, Just wondering if they may be Historically important. Bows have no visible marks and are untillered with risers popped off.

The arrows on the right look as though they have plastic points. If so that may very well indicate the era of WW2 manufacture.
-
Plastic nocks were not used until 1949. Judging from the pics some of the arrows have self nocks.
-
Phillip King - Checked your photographs and do not see anything that I could possibly recognize as being historically significant. Actually the best things I see are the Elephant Foot Blunts. If you have a set of calipers, can you give me the length and OD at the body of the blunts?
Bjorn - I would be interested to hear your logic behind your statement, "Plastic nocks were not used until 1949."
-
l & OD are 1/3/16* 3/8 to 7/16 thanks all.

I just notice on the Broken Arrow With the Ben Pearson Stamp on it Is pencil Marked Walt Wilhelm
-
Now we're talkin'.
-
The Walt Wilhelm and Ken Wilhelm arrows that I have and those that I have seen were hand made by Walt and Ken. Some are signed some are not.
An arrow manufactured by Ben Pearson and signed by Walt Wilhelm would still be a nice item.
You would need to authenticate the pencil marking as being Walt Wilhelm's before it could be considered legitimate. Even then it could not be authenticated as one of Walt's personal arrows unless you have additional evidence to indicated such a claim.
I have seen many arrows marked with names of old bowmen, some were marked (labeled may be more accurate) in modern times by modern collectors. Some marked arrows were simply autographed as mementos at shows or shoots etc, and are are not the actual personal arrow of the person who autographed the arrow. The difference between the historical significance is tremendous.
I have several of Walt Wilhelm's original signatures on items such as arrows, arm guards, and paper.
If you want to post a close up of the Walt Wilhelm name on your arrow, I may be able to identify it as being like one of those that I have....

Speaking of old arrows, and not trying to hijack this thread, when were wooden blunts used? I'm at work and can't do photos now, but I'll try tonight.

Hi Phillip,
Hijacked threads are how we all learn, never know what will come about when your threads hijacked.lol
Someone might have offered you some cash for it,or even known the man who made it, never know.
Sounds like a picture for Wade is in order, since he made a nice offer to help, and he does kinda knows his stuff.
It would answer your questions.
Are you thinking of starting a collection?

Pretty cool looking field tips on those.I thought the plastic field tips were from around WW2 when there was no steel for tips...bd
-
Phil - At one time I had quite a few old blunts that were organized into a collection, traded them off many years ago. The collection has some blunts made of wood. Don't really have knowledge of any advertisements for wooden blunt to be able to assign any dates. If you post a photo someone may recognize something about the blunt or the arrow.
There are also some wooden Popenjay (sp) points made of wood that look like a blunt, some are actually part of the arrow which tapers to a larger OD toward the point end.
