We have a Vintage Browning Folding Hunter II Recurve Bow w/Original Berger Button. We also have a signed decal from Vic Berger.
Any information regarding date manufactured and rarity would be appreciated (http://app8.sellersourcebook.com/users/40507/pictures_644.jpg) (http://app8.sellersourcebook.com/users/40507/pictures_648.jpg) (http://app8.sellersourcebook.com/users/40507/pictures_650.jpg) (http://app8.sellersourcebook.com/users/40507/pictures_657.jpg)

I have a scan of a Browning flier, It says it was designed by Harry Drake and Harry thought it would take gold in the 1976 Olympics if that helps..
-
Can you post the scan or email it?
So this was a bow that was in production at some point?
Thanks for the information
-
Glad to see you found your way here.

Thanks so much Shep..
I have been doing a lot of research on this bow. It was given to my husband by a dear friend who worked in marketing (I think) for Browning many, many years ago..
We are having a hard time finding information regarding this particular bow.
I am going to try and contact Browning tomorrow.
This bow has set off a major bow hunting desire... He is now the proud owner of a new compound bow..AND the gadgets that go with it..LOL I can't wait to get mine..

I am somewhat of a Browning recurve fan. I have several bows, the safari II, Explorer II and the firedrake. Never had a folding hunter. The folding hunter was a production bow. According to that link it says 70 so that bow was made around 1970 give or take a year or two. I watch the recurve auctions, there are a few pop up from time to time, so they are not rare, but not real common either. The value in my opinion is approx $200.

I really appreciate all of the help. We did take it to a bow shop and they indicated it had never had an arrow shot from it..
They are very curious about it too..
-
Yes they are somewhat common and were in production for a couple years in the 1970's.As Toad mentioned value around 150.00 250.00.They also came in a brown flocked finish kind of like a felt finish.
Browning bought out Harry Drake and Harry stayed on board as a bow disigner I believe for several years.Vic Berger at one time was a team shooter for Bear Archery also..bd

You have the Hunting model that was made in early 1970's. A very good shooting bow but extremely heavy handle. Had two of these over the years. A friend of mine has one of the target models.
-
I sold a couple of those for 250.00 and 200.00. if that helps.
-
You guys are great.. Thanks so much
Does the fact that it has not been shot or had an arrow through it, add value?
-
M&D, I sent you a PM No reply.
-
Earl, I just checked and there is no PM in my box..
Do you mind trying it again..
Thank you
