I have had this bow since I was a kid, looking to get advise as to how much if any something like this is worth and to see if there is any interest.
It is a unknown year Grizzly, appears to me to be osage orange lams and riser, brick colored glass front and back, one area on the back that has lines running parelell to the glass but do not seem like they are deep into the glass just surfacey, maybe finish. It has some age and handling marks on it but no gouges etc. It strings up and shoots pretty good actually. Limb tips are multi lams in good shape.It is missing the little leather wedge that was the shelf, can't find it.
Let me know gurus what you all think

my best educated "guess" would be a 1953 or 1954  model... I am not a Grizzly collector so this is just my opinion.

It's twin just sold for $101 on fleabay... if you decide to sell it I'd offer you better for it  :)   I forgot the dang auction was ending!

Right on Chuck! It is a '53 the wood is Maple and those bows can be great shooters.
Don't worry about finding the leather thing just glue on any thin leather flap and go shoot.

It is the most Osage looking maple I have ever seen,
wonder what they used to get it that color? Anyhow Jeremy it is for sale give me a PM

The color is not the wood it is the finish turning yellow with time.
The 1954 is a double shelf, shoots for a leftie or a rightie.

Bjorn, I thought Bear didn't start the larger standing Bear decal until '54?  A '53 should still have the running Bear, shouldn't it?

Cosmetic features like decals just don't work for dating ALL bows. Best to forget using those cosmetic features to date bows.

Stick with the form the bow was built on, the riser shape and wood type and glass color.

Jeremy, your observaton about the sticker is a good one; but as Wade says not reliable for dating. If the bow were a '54 it would be blond glass and a R/L riser.
There is another Grizzly thread on here in which Wade posted descriptions and I posted pics of the Grizzlies from 1949-1954.
