As you all know, there's been a recent spike in some bow prices on the big auction site in the sky. A 62 Grizzly recently sold for $450.00 plus and a 61 Grizzzly is currently $300.00 plus with a day left. Those 62 inch Grizzlies are nice but wow that's pretty good coin for a "Grizzly".
I sat at the comp last night and typed up a few item descriptions and fully planned on capitalizing on the craziness. I even went as far as taking pictures today and had a 61 Grizzly listing completed. I figured if the 50#er listed with visible stress could fetch 300+ my Zero stress 50# 61 would do even better. I was ready to hit the "list your item" button when I had second thoughts.
Before I could commit to selling it I thought I needed to shoot it one more time. I strapped a modified 4-arrow leathertop to it and took it outside. After 4 shots, I knew I'd probably feature this bow as my "go-to" bow on a "Happy Birthday 1961" thread someday.
I just couldnt turn it loose. It just shoots good and I like it more than the "dead presidents" it would net. I got it at a great price and planned on turning it over someday, but it's kinda grown on me. I chased turkeys with it last Spring and we made a few memories. Guess there's more to make.

solved the puzzle for me...Roy

Trap,
Totally understandable.Funny how we become attached to these old pieces of wood. They can become a part of us and what makes us tick.Gotta go with what's in your heart.Nice bow.

Daryl..I know where your coming from. Sometimes when I turn one loose Its like I lost a good friend...Very hard to replace!..You did the right thing...Mike

Yeah the prices are still tempting aren't they! Whoda' thunk it?

I got my camo griz for $20. Sorta cool, I think I'll keep her a while. Can't blame ya Trap.
-
The prices will always go up and pieces will became arder to find. With this kind of economy we can see a little of slow down maybe on the more comon bows but the good one will keep their value, still

I'am glad you snapped out of it.I know how it is to part with some items. It makes you feel bad to even think about it sometimes.
However I would also like to say my father always told me to strike while the iron is hot.I have several bows that will be lieveing here soon.bd

Guess we'll find out if the iron's still hot.
Looks like I'll be making memories with something else in two years.
Now that I have a great 61 Kodiak the decision is alot easier.
Wish me well :bigsmyl:
