Title: lone wolf elite stand
Post by: Northwoods on December 04, 2007, 11:46:00 AM
I've read the previous posts on this stand and was wondering if anyone else used one this season.  Any thoughts on how well it worked? Any problems or concerns with the stand.
Thanks to all those that posted on this topic previously.. Whenever I have a question Tradgang is the 1st place I go to find answers.  Thanks again everybody for making this such a great site.

I don't have the elite, but I've had several Alphas, and now use Assaults exclusively, except for my climber.  I'm sure the elite is just as well made as the rest.  It's awfully large, though.  It is heavier, bulkier than the Alpha.  No question about the quality.  The only question you need to ask yourself is, "Do I need that much room?"   Good luck.

I went back and forth on this one, and went with the Alpha.  it seemed to be "big enough" and I planned on being as mobile as possible.

good luck in your decision, I think Orion (above) has said it all.

I am very impressed with the Alpha.

Are you planning to square dance between deer sightings   :goldtooth:

Really I just purchased the Alpha hang on, and the lone wolf climbing sticks, I think it makes for a great setup. a lot of the tree stands that I have been occupying the last four weeks, there would not be room for the elite, I would rethink it, because it is 20 lbs. and you could get an Alpha hang on for $90 less or Alpha hand climber or sit and climb for not too much more at this time of year.

I just purchased my Alpha for $151.00, the stands I've been hunting in also are about half the size and my Alpha.  Some of them are really small.  I personally didn't feel uncomfortable in them.  But it just makes me appreciate my Alpha.

Yeah, I agree with the comments on size.  I have an Alpha hang on (and really like it) and was going to order another.  The shop got the Elite instead and offered it to me for the cost of the Alpha.  I'm just not sure I really need that much extra size.

I don't know, I never have been in a stand that is too big - especially during cold weather and you are all bulked up.

Too heavy yes, but not too big.  And at 20 lbs. I don't think it is too heavy.

can't go wrong with a lone wolf.

I also sell a lot of tree stands, so I get a chance to hear the comments back from those that buy them, and I've never had any bad comments about the lone wolf stands, or the service from their company.

Like someone else said " you can't go wrong with the Lone Wolf"

Haven't used the Elite,but like already posted,you can't go wrong with LW.I have 3 Alphas,an Assault,and both climber models,along with about 12 climbing sticks..........gotta love LW.

I do know that they are under new ownership now, just hope the service and quality remains what it has always been........
