No joke I thought this was some kind of a Bear Tamerlane take down.It has to rank up near the top of one of the biggest cracks I've ever seen. Half the riser is delamed.
Lots of different ideas as to why the micarta risers cracked.I believe one of the most common would have been being over heated during the riser shapeing process. If you get the stuff over heated while grinding the throat of the grip(where most do have cracks)it seemed to soften the glue they used in makeing it.Sometimes you see those models with no cracks what so ever. Then the next one is blasted full of them.
I think this Tamerlane simpley just had a material failure water maybe.I guess you could say she came unglued..bd (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/bowdocsarchery/tam006.jpg) (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/bowdocsarchery/tam005.jpg) (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/bowdocsarchery/tam004.jpg)
