Charlie, you need to use BB-code and no HTML - should look something like the example below:

Code: [Select]
Next is it completed for your picture:
Code: [Select]
I will not show the picture - you may copy and paste the code instead. I have looked at it of course! Outch! That hurts a bit.    :scared:   Weired arrangement also, but very unique! The up going wire is a little distracting IMO. Certainly a good conversation piece.
I know others here would have liked to start a fire underneeth. But this can still be done, of course    :smileystooges:

Charlie,

Was your aunt a compound shooter?? lol

Pop out the original coins and replace with 3R replacements, you'd have some good trading material.

Pretty neat design, have not seen one like it.

I think a lamp made out of wheelie parts should go in my trad man cave.

Years ago on e8ay there was a lamp made of three Kodiak Magnum dogleg risers.  The bows made a tripod as a base for the lamp.  It was neat.

From what I can tell I see two grizzlys and one super mag 48 all the risers have serial numbers

Charlie, here's the table lamp I was telling you about.I love this thing as well as my magazine rack but evidently my wife doesn't feel the same way.During the holidays they ended up in my bowroom(man cave) instead of in the family room where I had them and used them. She bought a "new" magazine rack to replace mine and didn't think we needed the table lamp in there. My son and I disagreed so the lamp is back in there.I'm working on the magazine rack.

Mike,
My wife would love for you to take the lamp and the magazine rack. She hates them. She's an interior designer and this stuff just doesn't go with our "decor" in "her" house. She felt the same way about my mounted wild boar head over the fireplace. He's out in the garage now.The bow room is MINE!!!

Please, PLEASE tell me these bows weren't shootable. If they were then lie and say they werent.

Yeah they make a ...ummm...cool magazine rack.

BUT, they would have made an even cooler bow!

I'm not too much of a Bear fan, but that hurts just a little to see (from what I can count) 18 bear bows in pieces.

Those magazine racks and lamps were most likely made with unshootable bows by a guy up in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. His name was Floyd Eccelston. He was a friend of Fred Bear's and had an archery shop there. It was him that made that lamp that was mentioned earlier with the three Kodiak Magnum doglegs.Fred agreed to give Floyd a bunch of those defective doglegs if he promised not to sell them to be shot so Floyd agreed.Either they became lamps or many had holes drilled into the limbs to prevent them from being shot, although if they had known about the Bowdoc, they would have had to send the bows thru a chipper to make them unshootable.I would think that the bows used in the magazine racks were defective too.Now my '59 Kodiaks,we'll never know. They looked awfully nice but they are old.

There is a ton of that stuff around and some of its pretty cool looking.I made several file handles and a couple other things from broken bows. There is also a 1963 dog leg mag lamp around I've seen. All 3 bows are bolted through the holes drilled for recall bows.Rich has a Super K with the holes I think. That lamp is 3 type one dog leg mags bolted together. When it was offerd to me for sale the guy said he wanted 1,000.00 for it...not gonna happen and I told him where to stick the lamb.I have never seen it again so he my have taken my advice.I just have a super hard time running a bow through a brand saw.I don't know just feels weird...bd

oh-bowhunter – Your bow furniture is great!  johnnyrazorhead – so you are the one who got Floyd’s magazine rack… darn...

Below is one of Floyd Eccleston’s unique 1963 Kodiak Dogleg Mag Lamps that is mentioned earlier. This particular lamp is the one that was is his shop for many years… I’ve seen four of Floyd’s Dogleg Mag Lamps. He may have made more than four. He used Type I and both riser lamination variations of the Type II Dogleg Mags. Never saw any Type IIIs used on his lamps. I have two of these lamps. In 1979, I acquired the first one for a dollar… Floyd donated one and I won it as the grand prize in the ABCC Raffle at the Bowhunter Nationals, in Clinton, Indiana… my lucky day for sure. Floyd, his lamp, and I are pictured on the cover of the July, 1979 ABCC Broadhead. My 15 minutes of fame consisted of a 1-second snapshot!!! Yes, one did sell on **** some years back. For those who knew Floyd, his unique items are priceless.

Hello Rich – Yes a long time… Like your idea of using C Risers for furniture. Hadn’t thought of using them. When I was a kid, I made a few stools out of various parts from old farm machinery. Have been thinking of a similar design but using old archery equipment. Maybe 3 or 4 C Risers could be bolted together the base and use A Risers for the foot rest, just checked, they are the right height, maybe short limbs for the seat and long limbs for the back rest… need to work up with a design… Would be the ideal stool for displaying the collection at shoots. If the C Risers don’t work out, it may be best to just cut up some old 1959 or 1960 Bear Kodiaks… Sorry not a very good photograph…
