I was cleaning up a couple bows this morning and making strings.Shooting a few arrows here and there.I gotta tell ya guy's this massive beast is about the best shooting target bow I have ever shot.Huge rosewood and phonalic riser HC300 Tamerlane 72" 33# equ with factory sight. This was the longest target bow offerd by Bear in 1969.What a gem of a shooter I was driven nails this morning..Beautiful bow....bowdoc (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/bowdocsarchery/bowdocs/tam001.jpg)

I call them survival bows you can burn them for two days and they will still shoot.

Kinda looking to add the 67 Tamerlane to my collection. Love that zebra wood. Your 69 is beautiful too.

I have one of each, Doc...they are gorgeus...but if you wan to talk about a mass of rosewood in a target bow, ya gotta lay it next to a Lord Mercury or a Hit Black Ace

Beautiful Bow :)

The lord mercury definitely has a big chunk of forest as a riser.

(http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp123/marathonbob58/DSC00850.jpg) First year 1963 Tamerlane. 69", 35# @ 28". My Dad bought in new and used it to shoot field archery back in the day. It's a tack driver iffen you do your part.

I do like the 1963/4 Tamerlanes about the best.

That looks like a '63...I think. I always thought that was one of the prettiest Tamerlanes ever made with the butcher block look of the rosewood caps.
Nice one...
