I know that looks like a spot of oil on there but its actually smooth-on dyed or stained with carbon black artist pegment.Under that is a wooden plug fitted really tight.First the plug is glued in with LT 420.Then capped off with the black smooth-on.It works great.bd

Hey Doc- who was the nut job that let you do all that to his bow...hey, that's MY bow. Grant

Well I only got the piece in the pic left.I took the grip down to far !!!!!!!!!!!! bd

I guess I can use it for a paper-weight. Nice job, Perfessor- GY

That's what I say every time Don sends one back home after the "treatment" Ric- Tom Phillips just suggested that I take a family photo of all the bows Don has done for me and bring it to Texas on our hog hunt in February. His work is simply outstanding-hear that BD?- now if he'd just send it home...Grant

Grant, I'll say one thing; you know what you want in your Bears and 'doc' can deliver. Always room for a little custom work.....Shick

Yes Dennis, I'm a little "particular" about my personal bows and I've always "messed" with them a little but I can't do anything approaching Don's level of work and I couldn't be happier with the risers and grips he's reshaped for me. I'm thinking about insuring him, lol. You know Bear's custom shop used to do a lot of this kinda thing. Heard some good things about you-maybe we can meet someday. Grant

Thanks BD- Sister's comin' home! Guys I've had seperation anxiety for a while- I've had to hunt with other bows and they're okay and did the job but this is the main bow in my little stable-seeing these pics makes it all worthwhile but they also make me more anxious than ever to get her back. You are THE man, Don! Thanks, Grant

Fellows I know this is of limited interest and I apologize for inflicting it on you but I have to tell you my old Style I Shown above got home today and I can't tell you what a great job Don did. Pictures can show the finish and other cosmetic features but this bow was modified per my request to the nth degree. It feels great, points great, (for me, of course) and is exactly what I asked for. Even though this bow is not "collectible" because of the alterations I've put her through I absolutely could not or would not put a price on it. I'll post pics early next week if anyone is interested but the purpose of this post is to give credit where credit is due...."Thanks, Bowdoc." Grant
