Title: Kodiak Magnums
Post by: Frank1107 on October 29, 2008, 09:08:00 AM
Generally speaking, what are the most desirable years for this bow. Secondly, are there any years that you would definitely shy away from.

And yes I am still looking for a '68 or '69 Super Kodiak but I figured I could learn something along the way.

Thanks

Frank

61,62,64,65,70 seem to be the most sought after of the Kmags.

I love the curved stripe 64 with gray glass.  A true beauty.  I don't own one, but I should.

Man I"am gonna end up getting tossed in jail for even mentioning about these two.The dude that has them said something to the affect of having me arrested or cutting some certin part of my body off if I ever even told anyone. So this story is true, however the names have been changed to protect the inisent.I did see and actuley had in my hands at dudes house(his name ai'nt dude). Two of the rarest of them all....the super rare and rarely ever seen in captivety. The 1959/1960 52" proto-type to the 1961 NOT 56" but thank you for asking.Yes its true. But ever finding one.Not gonna happen.Well I should refraze that.It could but not likely.I've only ever in all my years of being a BO-HO never ever seen or even heard of any others other then the two 1959/1960 factory camo 52" magnums. You gotta love em huh? bowdoc

IMO...The 61/62 are most sought after and hard to find in collector cond. I found a 61 with no stress and near mint. Now thats a first!

My 61 Mag has no stress either but was far from mint when I found it.

those early K Mags are very nice, I decided to collect 1969's because of the Super K and the Super mag. But the 69 Mag is nothing to write home about I much prefer the curved strip 1965.

Daryl, that's a beauty of a combo. My birthyear is '61 and someday I want to find a '61 to share the rack with my '62.

Or in this case, "share the snow", Great pic of a great bow Kenny!!!!!!

61 is my birth year as well, shame that the Kodiaks and Kodiak Mags show so much stress in 61. Makes it tough to find good ones.

I have seen and held a 1960 Kodiak Mag with the same brown and carmel glass as the 1960 Kodiak. Joe St. Charles told me there is a maple site window kodiak mag in the 1959 Little Delta trophy photo.
