I enjoy reading the how-to and hunting stories on this website very much. I have learned a great deal from all of you! Thank you very much! I showed my boy scout troop my stick bow and produced for them 15 blanks to also follow Mickey's red oak board bow design. We have had great fun over the last 3 meetings working on making their bows. Some are really looking good! However, two broke last night. A disappointment for sure, but they were all smiles when I handed them a new blank and helped them get going again!! I will post pictures when they are all completed (and the appropriate releases are signed). 11-17 year old boy scouts do amazing things when they are given a worthy challenge and appropriate opportunities! Some of the dads are even getting involved! Thanks again!!! :campfire:

Good for you Wulomac.
We should all get as many kids, women, and non-hunters involved as possible! You are doing a great thing Sir, and my hat is off to you. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the feedback. Trad Gang is GREAT!!!
What type of wood do you have them working with? What wood did you use for your first one?
Way to go Wells.
Scouting and archery is like peanut butter and jelly.
I purchased some some wooden trophies of a scout shooting a bow and the scout who beats the scout master at summer camp each year receives one.
So far the Scouts 2 and the scout master 0.
Seems he doesnt want to lay down the wheely bow before camp to practice. :knothead:
Keep up the good work.
