Title: Gainesville Bears

My first Gainesville Bear showed up today. It's a Super Kodiak 60"-60#-SK386. It is in near perfect shape and it looks preety good too. Is there a way to date the Gainesville bows by serial #,or would a phone call to Bear be better. Does anyone have one or an opinion on them. This is the first bow I have had or shot that isn't 30+ years old.

I had a bow just like yours a couple years ago and it shot just fine being both a smooth and accurate shooter.  I believe the Florida bows are just fine, but I prefer the earlier Michigan varieties...and just because.  

Sorry, I cannot help with dating your bow.

it is probably 7 or 8 years old. Should be a good shooter and a good hunting weight. Enjoy!

A guy I hunt with shoots a bow just like that one his arrows are fairly heavy and hit with a lot of oomph! Seems to be an excellent choice. Have fun with it!
