I have an older bear kodiak. the numbers on the side say kr1208. ive killed pigs with this bow but dont feel like i have reached its full potential so here are my questions.
1 what is the recommended brace height
2 what year was it made
-
oh yea 58" amo
-
Is is a Kodiak? or maybe a Super Kodiak, Kodiak Hunter, Kodiak Magnum, etc.
yeah, a pic is worth a thousand words.

Being that it is a "K" bow, it cannot be a Kodiak. It has to be a Kodiak Hunter, Super Kodiak, or possibly a Kodiak Magnum.
We need to know which it is before we can give you an accurate answer.

KR1208 will be a Grizzly from 1970.
Interesting you say it is AMO 58". The 1970 Grizzly was 56" so it should read AMO-56" below the serial. The Grizzly pictured in the 1970 catalog has serial KR1970 - for obvious reason. Your's should be older. So, did they make a 58" version which was not listed in the catalog?
Does it have a Shedua riser with single vertical accent stripe and white tips?
No own experience with this bow but my estimate for brace height would be from 7.5 to 8 inches for 58" and maybe a little higher for AMO 56"

ok it is a 58 amo. it is green and brown wood with a single stripe of a goldish wood. the tips are not white they match the darker wood from the front of the bow. is has brown glass and is 45#.

can i email pics to someone because i cant post
-
Sounds like a 1973 or later Bear Grizzly. Brace height should be about 7.5".
-
Second what Horney Toad says. I can picture that Grizzly. I have a two piece Grizzly with that green and brown wood that used to be 58". Now its like 38" and 20". Like bow doc always says- "use a bow stringer".
