Title: SABO Bow info

Anyone know anything about a SABO Bow possibly made in California, I have the following;

SABO
TFS  64"
50# @28'
SER # 87027
Brown handle with lighter brown limbs

Any info would be appreciated.

SABO

I got two.  One is 58" 55#  Camo painted.  One is a takedown made semilar to the Browning Backpacker series.

Sabo was a bowyer in California during the '60's and into the '70's

He made a great shooting bow, although rather plain for most of his models.

He later came out with a wierd contraption that had a shoot through riser- true center shot.  You can see two of his unique models at the middle of this URL  (Alphabetical order)

He had United States Patent 3537439.  He made several models including the Hunter, avenger, Warrior, and others.  Hemay not be well known to anyone but collectors, but he did make a fine shooting bow, and in the hands of a competant shooter it would "drive nails" as you put it.

Thanks for the info Jack.  I paid $20 for this bow.  Real nice looking bow in pretty good shape.  I haven't shot it yet but my son has so I don't know how it shoots.  Will probably  get rid of it as my long bow came apart and I need another one.

To some, like me, you have a real collector's item.  If you put it up for auction, most guys will not know what it is.  If I see it, I will wait to the last minute and drop a decent bid on it and cross my fingers.  The Sabo hunter I got for about $50.00 becaus of poor pictures, and a really poor description.  Obviously the seller did not know what he had.  On the other hand I have seen lesser Sabo's than mine go for over $200.00.  I won't chase them that high.  I make a bid of what I feel is about half value, and hope I get it.  I got two that way and paid about  1/4 of what I felt they were worth.

Is there a model written on it like Hunter, Turk, Avanger, Warrior...?
