I was looking through one of my outdoor magazines and found this website for a new hunting chair. It is called the Comfort Hunter. It looks like a great product.I noticed on previous posts, people were looking for hunting chairs or seats for ground blind hunting. Are any of you fello Tradgangers familiar with this product? Heres the website. www.comforthunter.com (http://www.comforthunter.com) I found the website in the Michigan Outdoor News paper Dec 3-Dec16 issue.
Looks like a pretty good idea except for the weight, 14# without the leg extensions.
That seems expensive but it sure looks cool.
That chair seems more designed for the gun hunter (low to the ground) I picked up one of these web page (http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=39333985&memberId=12500226&storeId=226&catalogId=40000000226&langId=-1) a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it, it's light weight, comfortable, has a shoulder strap, and priced well. It also allows me to shoot my bow from it while in the seating position.

$100.... :scared:  :scared:
Ya a little low for bow. Click on the "pictures" button and there's a non-trad guy at full-draw. He's canted a little. And you can't do that with those. So the seat needs to be a little higher.
Although, a trad guy could cant and practice that position.
I, too, think it is designed with the gun hunter in mind. I think the one Montauks mentions is a much better value and more of what I would want. JMO Mark
I'm looking for a taller bar-type stool, I'm 6'5", so that all I have to do to be standing, is lean forward off of it. Would be good in Wyoming in the blinds for antelope, and here in Mo with the Ghillie suit!
I like sitting close to the ground. I like this seat. I make a buch and leave them around the woods at different blinds. This way I can move around quick and easy. Makes it easier to tighten up your area depending on deer movement.

Hey, the leg extensions are only $30.00 more
I use a double bull "Magnum" I call it my La-Z-Boy in the woods, it has an adjustable padded lumbar brace, that can be moved up and down on it, the seat is designed so that it doesn't cut off your circulation on your legs, and it's really comfortable. I use it and ground blinds that I set up, all or the T 2 & T 5, I have fallen asleep in his chair it's that comfortable.

I used one like this for several years until the squirrels found it and chewed about everything off of it. I liked it because the legs never sank into the ground and caused it to tip.

Aeronut,
They have those very seats at *mart right now. I just picked up two of them. Great little chairs!
I use to use a folding wood chair that worked well. Being flat it was easy to strap on my back and light,it was also cheap but sturdy. Only one draw back and that is if you stand up to shoot watch out for the bottom limb of your bow. It can strike the chair and cost you a good buck. voice of experience using the chair. :)
I use one of them small 4 leg folding chairs from wally world
Looks interesting but I too would like some imput from anyone who has tried one
From a guy who used to do a ton of gun hunting from the ground, I can tell you our whole group is sold on the tree lax tree seat by rivers edge. Weighs almost nothing, screws into the tree, and costs about $15.

I have around 60 hrs in using the Comfort Hunter. I use it solely in my Double bull blind. It is by far the most comfortable chair I have used. Every other chair hurt my nether regions. I have the leg extensions which help for bow clearance. I really like the silent swivel. As far as using it for ground hunting without a blind I would have no problem using it. It weighs the same as most treestands. The only thing I would be careful of is the noise the leg extensions make when they are being carried. I know from talking to the creator of the seat he is working on lighter legs that are made of aluminum to cut the weight down. In my opinion it is the best seat a guy can use if he is fortunate enough to be able to place his ground blind for long time during the season. I will say that is probably too heavy to carry along with a Double Bull.
I agree with Aeronut (Dennis) I use this type of Cchair all the time. The back support really helps when sitting for a long time. Plus they are relatively cheap. I had one that had no back and swiveled 360degrees and it was great except for the lack of back support. Both chairs carry easy with the attached strap.
Campmor's Roll-a-Chair is one we came across for our double bull..now my buddy goes 280 and I hit 220 somewhere this past year... and we've sat them for long periods.
I don't think he's truly gotten the vision that it would make a good hunting rig, as it's not in camo (yet), but the service and quality were exceptional. Very well made and a good height for bow hunting.
I especially like that this unit has the flip down or up back...that really helps w/ lumbar support for long sits. Heavy 3-legged design, aircraft Alum...well, ya can read about it. :)

Thanks for your imput Jim. The swivel making noise was a concern. I'm looking for a good seat to use in natural blinds when using a tree seat is not an option.
