Lest anybody think that JohnnyRazorhead (DetroitDeerSlayer on ****)is anything less than MY HERO. Here are pics of the 1959 Kodiak he sold me. All original (leather wrap- strike plate - even the feather rest) Bow has not been refinished but still looks wet from 1959! Figured Purple Heart I beam. We are talking a solid 9 out of 10 all original 59 Kodiak.
I strung-er up and shot exactly 7 arrows. Took the string off. I may never fire the bow again.

I have a feeling I'm helping to create a monster.That bow looks prettier than I remember.Must be the light.Can I have it back,it looks like the limb is twisted to me.LOl Nice pics.If I had those pics when I listed it I probably coulda got more for it!!! Glad you like it,I thought you might.Enjoy.

You better shoot that bow. Hanging it up would be a sin. Send it to me I'll hang it up ;) (in a tree while I wait for a deer to come down the trail)

I'm still waiting for a 1960 Kodiak that clean for myself!! I did just pick up a pretty nice 1960 Kodiak,60",50#.It's an earlier 1960 model with a copper coin and a little less swell in the grip than alot of 60's.I prefer a smaller grip.It does have a butcher block sight window which is somewhat uncommon.Not quite as clean as Bill's bow but the limbs are straight and it's a shooter.If I knew how to post pics here I would.What's the secret?

I agree with you and I would let that one rest. Your bow looks about as clean as they come. Hold on to that one Bill, keep it all original and stress free. '59 Kodiaks aren't nearly as rare as we collectors would like to believe. But they are rare in the near mint condition your bow seems to be in. If you like shooting those 7 arrows, find another '59 Kodiak that isn't that clean and is a good hunting weight for you, buy it and have it refinished with modern clearcoat and replace the limb tip overlays with glass overlays. Then you have a '59 that is a real shooter. Or get a 1960 Kodiak which does have the glass tip overlays and shoot it instead....sigh, thus the sickness is spread...

John, You have to download them in Photo bucket and then copy and paste them here. Theres a tutorial on the home page. I had to go through it step by step to figure it out.

Chuck, that quiver is really unique, at least to me, leathertop with springarm on top and bolt on the bottom. Is that a prototype model between the bolt-on and springarm? I love my 4-arrow bolt-ons.

Trap, made the quiver myself, cut the lower arm off a double spring arm quiver and mounted the lower attachment plate.... I like the looks of it too. thanks.

I just got a 59 this past Tuesday,not as pretty as yours but I got it to hunt with. Wanted to have a bow as old as me. Around what would a refinish with glass tips cost?

Chuck I mean no disrespect in any way sir..just thought I would mention that after seeing the pack frame mounted tent stake hammer in his pic...but the pic also shows a possible no no on your 1959...the quivers upper arm is actually in a small section of the power stroke area or working part of the upper limb.Now the only reason I would interject here is..The quiver arm is doing what I would call..short working the upper limb or not letting it flex freely right there.It's createing stiff spot.If all thing were equal and you had a spring arm on the upper and lower limbs would be better.But with that said,I am not saying that does not work,if you have become a custom to shooting it mounted that way...don't change it...But the Bear quivers with the upper adjustable arm seems to work a little better for myself if I keep it do onto the fadeouts of the riser.That lets the limbs flex freely no interferance...Just wanted to mention it....bowdoc
