Oh yeah,I know someone watching...But one thought I had Tim was several of the skin backed Kodiaks I've purchased and worked on both. Were just hammerd full of stress cracks...Not saying they all are...just some food for thought...The last one I got was a 1956 K 40# it was a pretty crappie or is it crappy job on the skins. So I took em off.Wow there was 9 inches of glass missing on one limb...Needless to say,I reskined er and gave it to my 11 year old gradson for his birthday last year..Do keep that in mind when purchasing a collecter bow with skins....bowdoc

Very good points Doc, I'll definitely keep that in mind.  I'm not looking to buy it, my purchasing days are postponed for a while, but I still like to weed through the auctions to see whats going on.  Plus it s a great way to learn different bows and makers. I'm a bow junkie with a lot to learn.  Tim  :D

Yes good point. Even if you like skins, that is the bow NOT to put skins on. You are either covering up something bad, or if it is a nice bow, you are lowering the collector value.

How do you put gelcoat on the limbs? I take it you mix fiberglass resin and coat the limbs, then sand it off and spray clear coat?
