Title: Brace height for Wilson Bros. Widow X-99 Pictures Added!!
Post by: ckruse on February 02, 2008, 08:06:00 AM
I recently acquired a stunning 1964 Wilson Bros. X-99 Black Widow. It's 66" 40 @ 28", Brazilian Rosewood. Just wondering if anyone with experience with these older bows could recommend brace height range? I got the bow from the original owner's son, and intend to give it a very good home, for a very long time! CKruse

Dangit Don, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder, but saying one of these vintage Widows is "butt ugly" is like saying Jennifer Lopez would be hot if she didn't have such a big a$$!  :biglaugh:  Let's let our Tradgang cronies decide what's beautiful! By the way, she's a great shooter. All that mass makes for a very stable, accurate bow. Prepare for the obligatory barrage of pictures!

It's an old Shakespeare stick on feather rest that appears to be patterned after the Pierson vertical feather rest. I bought a pretty good little lot of them on *#bay a while back. Let me see what I've got in the basement and I'll send you a couple. CKruse

If I can crack the picture loading code today.I will post a couple pics of a massive,no I mean massive! Sanders Classic I am almost finished with. Those model Classics, has by far the biggest of all brazilian rosewood risers from that era 1960's.The bow weights in about 5-7 pounds..not draw weight eather..will keep ya posted, bowdoc
