hello from maine,i recently bought a solid wood longbow and was wondering if anyone could help with some bow history? i got a 68 inch longbow.it has l.e.stemmler,manorville ny stamped into the front of the lower limb.it also has 55 28 maximum on front lower limb.the grip has a leather wrap.the bow is in amazing shape, and is the toughest #55 lbs i ever drew!!i went online but could not find anything about the bow maker.

L.E.Stemmler Co., Queens Village, Long Island, N.Y.
was established in 1912 - and I have copies of advertisements as late as 1956 - from his Broadheads of course :D
Your bow should be a good 50 years old. Congrats that it did not explode on full draw!

thanks to falk for your info.if anyone has any idea if the stemmler is a good collectors bow or just another old bow let me know.she still has almost to much shine and is just a pleasure to hold.drawn her a few times, stayed togather! have not loosed an arrow as of yet.
