Hi folks. I’ve been working on a replica Grumley deerslayer for myself. I’ve always wanted to go out and hunt with one, but even if I owned one I wouldn’t string it. For the most part I have things figured out but I’d like to build one as close to an original as I can.
So I wonder if anyone on here, that may own one, would be willing to share a few dimensions, or a few good photos with some type of reference. I’d like to get the depth of the handle, length of the fades/dips and maybe the amount of reflex that the bow had (not counting the recurves) originally. Even the widest point of the limbs would be nice.
Any info would help. I’ve searched the net and have come up with a few things that help but it seems that for the most part it’s hard to get any in-depth info on them. Anyway, thanks a lot.

One brush guard. Notice it is wrapped. Had a light crack and I wrapped it. Probably shouldn't shoot it anymore but I really like it.

The other end. This is a 54 or 55 Grumley by Bear. 62" long, #64@28" Deerslayer. If you want I can give you some measurements but I am not much of a bowyer. I've only made a few selfbows. Let me know if any of this is helpful.

I'm sorry Mike, yes it is a Bear Grizzly with the 2nd running bear sticker. Off red glass on back and belly. I should have stated Grumley style.

Court, thanks a lot for the photos. Johnnyrazorhead was nice enough to offer all the help I need. But I really appreciate it. And I enjoy looking at those old bows.
That’s a great looking bow. And it does help answer a few questions I’ve had. But now I have a few more. One thing it shows me (that I think is interesting) is that it appears the static tips on the grizzly didn’t come around as far as the older Grumley deerslayers did. Makes me wonder if it was because of the glass or some other design related reason. Thanks guys.
