And the story is where, exactly? :readit: :saywhat:
Out with it!!!!
WHAT THEY SAID!!!!! I know it'll be good, you've hunted hard this year!!!!!
I didnt know they had a monkey season in Missoura.
Kenny it looks like you need a new place to hunt because somebody is walking around dumping blood all over the place.
Tracy
Looks like you shot him Kenny! :campfire:
Still waiting for that monkey pic.And I been thinking,I bet he didnt fall from the tree but jumped not knowing how hard those Missouri leaves are. That would account for all that blood.
I know a guy who shot a monkey once...
well actually it was a baboon. Said it was creepy when he grabbed it by the "hand" to drag it...EEEWWW

thtat would be crepy
come on with the story
A friend went to Africa. Said that when the baboons moved into the area, all bets were off as they would actually warn all other animals that danger was near and they would never leave. It was actually hard to get away from them to get to the truck. The PH told him he could shoot as many baboons as he wanted, that they were a pest and nuisance, actually cause beaucoup property damage as well. So he got the chance and took it. After holding it's hand he said he didn't want to shoot any more of them...
I don't know if it reminded him of a family member or what the deal was.
Sorry folks,no antlers ,but this ol doe after gun season is quite satisfying to me........

Good deal Kenny!
Any doe shot after gun season is quite an accomplishment. I mean they've been shot, jumped, spooked, trampled upon, you name it, they've been through it.
Congrats Kenny!!!
Great deer, Kenny! Can't eat them antlers anyway.
Way to go Kenny, congrats on a fine animal.
David

Good job Kenny. They can be a little spooky around here at this time of the year.
Neat-o'. Glad you shook that monkey! CK
Reminds me of the monkey and coonhound story but anyways Congrats. :clapper:

Dennis
Congratulations Kenny!!! Sky and myself have been following your season so far....great job!....Don and Skyler
Great job neighbor! I hope I'm next in line. Tough season this year.
:clapper:
Thanx all!
The monkey I spoke of is being surrounded by minibucks all year, either not legal or sumpin that looked to be promising for another year. Been wantin to shoot a doe for some time, this was the third opp this year. First 2 sensed my presence and were fairly spooky, this one wasn't spooked but still almost ducked the arra, damn theyre FAST!! Guess after gun I'll have to get em under 10 yds,she was at 15 today........(dang TX deer,I guess)
Was right on the edge of the bedding/swamp area,I heard him go thru before daylite, breakin sticks and prettty much soundin like a hereford bull goin thru the brush! Can't get any closer to the bed,so may have to catch him in the 2nd rut or hope for cold weather. Saw a bobcat scamper thru just at first lite, then at 7:00 a doe came thru at 10 yds, looked me over really well and I let her pass,2 minutes later this one came thru,I stood and a knobby on my rubber boot made a small "ping" on the stand. She looked at me thru the limbs, then looked at the other doe 50 yds on past and on she came. At the shot she ducked and it took her high and back,I wanted to pitch my bow out of the stand, but only one to blame here. She went 50 yds and bedded so I backed out and gave her time, then did the necessary things and took her to the locker.I usually process my own,but a lil busy this weekend, just took her to town. :) :wavey:
Congrats Kenny!
Great Stuff,Way to go !!!
Congrats Kenny! I've had a hard time try'n to get one of them older slick heads myself. I did take one of them lunch box size does earlier and have not seen near the action out of the bigger bucks this year. But there is always a chance, I love the late season hunting anyway. Congrats again Kenny, that ol'monkey don't belong in Missoura anyhow !
Way to go Kenny! Many a fine meal there...Doc
Great Kenny,happy for ya bud!
Good Stuff ! A mature doe is a real trophy especially during gun season.
Very good Kenny,
Tracy
Congrat's Kenny. Great looking deer. She ought to be some good eating! What kind of bow is that? Specs? It sure is pretty!
-Leonard-
Thanks again friends!
Leonard, that is a test bow I designed last winter, tryin for more speed(which is overrated IMHO),64" d/r 'longbow'(?),52#@28",all walnut cept the hickory accents.
Way to go Kenny, in the freezer they all look the same! Looking to try my hand at those Mo. deer next year-family issues prevented me this year but look out next fall.
Nice job Kenny! Nice doe and a nice bow! Congrats!
Kennym. Don't ever apologise that it has no horns or antlers. It is still a pretty deer and will taste great. Beside eating antlers is over rated. Does not matter how lobn you par boil those suckers. They JUST do not soften up.
Contrats to me any deer with a bow is just fine.
