I know there are Bear collectors here who can help with a question, no better place to ask. I have seen on ebay a couple Bear Cub bows. One was advertised as being able to be shot right or left handed. The pictures didn't show both sides of the riser. One is on ebay now, but doesn't say if it can be shot rt or lft handed. Again pictures don't show both sides of riser. Who knows if some or all or none of the Cubs can be shot either way? Thanks. Frank

Standard preface-- I'm not a collector---
but, I believe approx 1953-55 Bear made a lot of their bows double shelved. After that they became dedicated RH or LH.

Thanks Dan, appreciate the reply. Frank

1954 catalog states that you need to order right or left hand, and this is a straight limbed bow. I think the 1952,1953, nad the 1954 were all the same. Thanks to 4nolz I have one of these. The bow came with a shelf set up for RH but looking at how the bow is built I believe that it could be shot either hand, just a matter of the shelf wedged under the grip. 1955 is a semi recurve w/double shelve.

I have a Bear Cub, I think its from 1957 and it is also a double shelf. Both shelves are cut into the riser. I'm not sure when Bear quit making this type riser but it was after 1957.
