yup

It's going to be very hot and very humid.Get some snake chaps and bring bug spray.
-
all ready got those packed

Just remember the heat can be dangerous.Take it easy and bring plenty of water and GatorAid.You can sweat so much it takes too much salt out of your system.
Just a few days ago it was 98 degrees but the heat index because of the humidity was around 110.
I would suggest only hunting untill about 10:00am and taking only close sure shots because you need to get a pig cooled off fast as possible.

thanks for the advice

If you can find a place to hunt wilcox county offers some of the best hog hunting in the state.
Also hogs tend to move extremely well after summer rain showers regardless of the time of day

Check out some of the Corps of Engineers land around the dams. Some have hunting year round for hogs, some only during deer season. If you have a state license, the COE license is free. Bill

anywhere in the area of the mobile river delta produces lots of hogs....boat is definately a huge plus....I hunt there every year with a buddy that lives down there.

Heck anywhere on the Alabama or Tombigbee rivers produces a large number of very large hogs! I've not heard much from my friends at auburn about the hog hunting in that area but i can tell you that the swamps here around Tuscaloosa are severely overrun. It may be a good idea to bring a .410 for the snakes, chaps help when you dont see them but if they block the only dry path its good to have some persuasion

You can hunt hogs all year round on private land, if you plan to go in the summer dress light because it can get real humid. There is some good spots around Tuscaloosa AL.

Hello Patrick,
I am sort of late in helping you out here, but I live near Montgomery Alabama and hear that the Lowndes County Game Management Area is crawling with wild hogs. I would love to get me a wild hog or a gater with my bow.

I don't know if you have ever used a Thermocell but it works great. Might take the place of using Bug spray.

2nd Lowndes County Game Management Area, lots of hogs. It's an hour or so South of Auburn.

My friend and I went to a hog hunt in Enterprise, Alabama. The man had a great setup and some very big hogs. I'm sorry to say after so many years I can not temember his name.
Remember there are rattlesnakes in Alabama and my friend shot a 5 foot rattlesnake on this hog hunt and a 130 pound sow. There was some hogs close to 400 pounds there but as always money was an issue with us.
