Hello all.
i shoot a 65lbs Ferguson patriot longbow (from bear archery) and I can't seem to get my arrows to fly straight. I am using 28in 11/32in diameter pre-finished wooden shafts from three rivers archery and 145 grain points. They just seem to never be too consistent. Also I have troubles with my arizona ez fletch. The featehers are damaged or torn off after only a few shots. I am using bohning fletch tight platinum glue which has worked very very well in the past for carbon/aluminum arrows. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As long as the feathers are falling off, try shooting one arrow bareshaft. That should give you an idea of how close your spine and nock point are. Shooting thru paper is another method.
I don't know what finish 3R uses, but I doubt it is a Bohning product. Try Duco glue, 97 cents from WalMart.

Ill second what fletcher said about the glue. As far as arrow flight to offer a constructive suggestion we would need to know how far you are drawing your bow and what spine your arrows are? Joseph

Another choice for fletch glue is Saunders Arrow mate NPV. Most trad shops carry it and I've had very good luck using it on gasket laquer, I believe thats the finish 3Rivers uses.

I use superglue (Loctite from Wally World) to attach fletching with gasket lacquer, but it doesn't set as fast as with some other finishes. You need to wait 5-10 minutes or so before you can remove the clamp. On polyurethane, it sets almost instantly.

find you a copy of traditional bowhunter magazine, and order a copy of t.j.s book, traditional bowhunters handbook it will help a greatdeal.Goodluck!!
