Title: And Old Man and His Bow
Post by: George D. Stout on November 28, 2007, 02:09:00 PM
This good looking feller was shooting his favorite little recurve today and I caught him on film.

It's a circa 1958 (?) Tri-State Jaguar, 52#@28", 60".  A great shooting bow, by the way.

Classy looking George. I guess you decided not to hunt with the orange army?

George,

Our gun season opened today and I went out with the bow. I hear horror stories but really have no fear, it does seem alien though to wear flo orange. I had a fun hunt but still seemed a little weird.

Then again I doubt I would have done it if I still lived in Pennsy, miss parts of the state but the opener of deer is not one of them.

...didn't mean classic as in "old"...classic as in timeless, having lasting value and quality...how am I doing, as I dig myself out?

I'm not sure what "old" is, but I'll be 62 on January 4th.

Well, Roadkill, there's "not so old you wouldn't take it home and do some cookin'", "old enough that the good parts are mostly taken", "old enough that a bit of Vick's below the nostrils and a spatula are a good idea", "old enough to pick up and play Cat Frizbee with" and "dust".

And various stages in between the progressions. But all things are relative.

You are only as old as ya feel George. I know ya do not feel old just by looking at ya with that bow in your hand. I hope I feel as old as you do when I am your age. I am lucky as I have 140 acres in a bow only area, so the orange army leaves me be. Nice pic. George and is that the same bow in the second pic. what a beauty. Shawn

Lookin' good George.  That bow looks like a shorty with plenty of deflex.  What is it, 52 inches?
