Title: Bow Stringer
Post by: oktechie on January 28, 2007, 01:26:00 PM
Could anyone give me a little instruction on how to make a bow stringer? Or would I be better off just buying one? I know these should be very easy to make but I have never really seen one so I wouldn't really know where to start.

TIA,
Scott.

Check out the how-to section and see if anything is posted there.  If not, you could always reverse engineer a store bought version.

To Buy: Saunders makes a Bowstringer, and I believe it will do LongBow abd ReCurve.
To Make: Leather Pockets, for the limb tips to rest in, and a Length of good durable parachute cord.
If You Look in the "How-To" Archives, I Know there is one in there about Making a Stringer!!

Your best bet is to get about 6' of black nylon webbing (1" version) and makes some small pockets in either end.  The extra width makes stringing ANY bow simple, even up to 150# draw weight.  Check out the webpal stringer for an example.  You will never wear it out and never need to buy another stringer for ANY bow!
