Title: arrow flight
Post by: j yenney on November 27, 2007, 02:14:00 AM
I'm shooting 28.5" 2018 arrows,125 gr. field pts and 57#, there is no kick side to side but I notice 20 yards down range that the front of the arrow drops very fast. Anybody have any thoughts?

Thanks

Maybe your nock point is too high.

Yep, I'd say your nock point is either too high or possibly too low.

I agree it's probably too high. To be sure you could make a frame to paper tune. I just cut a square hole in the bottom of a cardboard box and cover with one layer of newspaper. Leave the top open and set it about shoulder height in front of a backstop.

If not familiar with paper tuning there are several threads that have covered it.

If it were low enough to cause the problem I think it would be more noticable.(caused by striking the shelf)

Playing with the brace height can also effect flight.

Thankyou, It's a new bow/string and I probally have shot 2000 arrows thru it. I'll give it a try.
