Marinate your venison steaks in Mojo for at least 24 hours. Then apply a small amount of BBQ rub to the meat before grilling. Grill the meat making sure that it is not over cooked. The combination of the Mojo and the rub provides an outstanding taste delite.

FlHunter,
Can I have the recipe for Mojo? Thanks Dina

Hey guys, what is MOJO? And what rub do you prefer?
-
I think FL is talking about the bottled marinade Mojo Criollo. It's a spanish marinating sauce that can make boot leather taste good....I agree with him, it makes great deer on the grill.

JC is correct Mojo Criolo is the marinade. I like to use Legg's BBQ rub on my meats, their Pork sausage seasoning makes a great rub also.

Here's the recipe I use for homemade mojo:
7 tbs fresh squeezed orange juice
5 tbs distilled vinegar
3 chopped scallions
6 minced garlic cloves
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tbs grated orange rind
1 tbs ground cumin
4 tbs olive oil
2 jalapenos, seeded and minced
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
(If you like cilantro, you can add a little to taste.)
Combine all and blend to form smooth paste. Let sit a couple of hours to blend flavors. Use as marinade for venison, pork, chicken. Can also be used as a baste when grilling, toward end of cooking.

Geez Al - I'm drooling all over the keyboard. Great marinade. I guess I'll be busy this weekend. :D
Thanks.
