Title: Bob Lee String question????
Post by: suttoman on November 24, 2007, 06:09:00 PM
I am just trying to quieten down my new B/L a little (43#, signature T/D L/B) - I have only had it just over a week.

The string that came with it seemed a little thicker than I like.  I whacked on my 12 strand Rod Jenkins 8125 - that increased the noise a little (I don't shoot with any cat- whiskers, don't like anything slowing my bow down).

I reverted back to the original string and the bow is a little quieter.  However I don't know what type of string it is.

I wrote to sandy but she hasn't got back yet.  Can anybody tell me what type of string is furnished with the new B/L's?  I think it said something about it being a flemish string?

I am hopeing it is not dacron cause I know that slows the bow down a lot.

Thanks - Sutto

The string is flemish but they give you a choice either 8125 or Dacron. It's your call on the new Bob Lee's. I amd using and 18 strand 8125 string with beaver balls on it. On my limbs I put limbsavers just past the fadeouts and it made it extremely quiet.

My last bow and 2 extra sets of limbs and the new limbs I just got,the strings sent were fast flight of some kind.Although slower I prefer dacron so much easier to silence on recurves.Kip
