I've always loved my Great Northern bow quiver on my recurve that has a lot of mass. But on my longbow it causes some unwanted torque. Last summer I bought one of those little Eagle Flight 4 arra bowquivers. That thing is so lite it's very close to a bare bow. Even so I've found myself hating it due to how it slips up the limb causing the broadheads to fall out which has almost injured me and cut my bow string. I shot a deer this morning and thing came loose again. While waitin for the deer to die I figured how to fix it. By rolling tight fitting small rubber bands up to the quiver attachments it holds it perfect. I tried it out as soon as I got home and washed the deer blood off my hands. Hope this helps some frustrated tradganger
I need pictures of both your fix and your deer. Please! Thank you!
God bless,Mudd
Mudd I sent you a couple Pics
I got the pictures. Thank you. There are you putting the rubber band? I sure like the looks of your bow. Makes me think it's an old freind of yours.
Greenie,
If your EFA Quiver is slipping, you can trim the rubber back a little and it will hold very well.
Here's how I do mine. First I put it on the thin portion of the limb before the fade and crank it as tight as I can get it. Then I put dishsoap/water on my fingers and smear it on the fades, lubing up the whole thing. Then I slide the quiver down as far as I can get it onto the fade. Then dry off. Makes 'em near bombproof for me, never had one slip.
Like Tim suggested, cutting the rubber back is the recommended fix. You can also use some double sided tape on the rubber that contacts the bow. That will stay until you remove it.
I have a Selway quick detach bow quiver that was doing the exact same thing. My arrows would fall out of it all day long. Well, my bow is all black, so I just took some black duct tape, tore it in quarters long ways, and wrapped just above the top half, and just below the bottom. No more sliding.
