Here is where I am at. I shoot a #55 recurve and have always had trouble with what I call my arrows doing a barrel roll. I am accurate but I want better and consistent arrow flight. I have tinkered with my set up, form, etc. and believe I have determined that the way I grip the string is causing my issues with arrow flight. In talking with a buddy I mentioned that I put more pressure on my ring finger and have a callous on the outside edge of that finger. He said the callous is the tell tale sign of torqueing my draw hand.
I went out last night and intentionally put more pulling pressure on my pointer and middle finger (I shoot split) and I did not get any erratic arrow flight. I know that switching anything up is always weird at first, but I would like to hear some descriptions of how to achieve proper string grip so I am not fumbling around as I am drawing.
Thanks in advance for any input. Sam

Yes, you do want more pressure on the index and middle finger and MUCH less on the ring finger. Roughly, try 40% weight on the index finger, 50% on the middle finger and only about 10 % on the ring finger.
Take a look at this video as see if it gives you any ideas.

Oh and by the way (and to split hairs), "grip" generally refers to the bow hand and "hook" for the string fingers.
