Last we our club had it's first shoot of the year. I noticed that when I shot from down on one knee, I hit the 12 ring. While standing I was 8 or 5 and low. I think I'll see what happens at the practice range next week. What do you think? Should I make nothing out of it. Would love to shoot today but moving.

I would guess (I'm no expert though, by ANY means) that while standing, you might either be dropping your bow arm at the shot, or are starting the shot with your bow arm at an angle lower than 90 degrees from your spine. While shooting from one knee, you subconsciously are keeping your bow arm up for fear of making contact with the ground with your lower limb.
OR, it's just that the target is closer to your shoulder height while kneeling. Remembering to consciously keep your bow arm 90 degrees from your spine and to bend at the WAIST to shoot at a lower target might help.
Just a thought....hope it helps.

I tend to shoot high when I sit, kneel,or squat, (http://i.imgur.com/NC5b8Jr.jpg)while shooting. Once it gets close to the season I practice a lot sitting on my hunting seat to get the feel back. And sometimes that still does not work.
Two shots at this buck at about 18 yds each while I squatted in a small blowdown. Both shots went high. Unreal.

How's it working out, H-MAN? I was hopimg others would chime in to give their opinions, but I'm interested as to whether or not you got the issue resolved....?

Depends on target level...on one knee, you may be level with target...I don't know...but while standing....don't just lower your bow arm...if the target is low, bent at the waist and keep the 'Magic T'.

Shooting on one knee is an acceptable technique for shooting extreme up or down slopes. I'm not referring to tree stand shooting but severely sloping ground. It's a steadier position and helps with alignment.
