I have a Anciant Spirit Sequa that has alot of R/D in it. It also appears to be center shot. It seems to shoot a 1916 with 175g point up front cut to 28 inches pretty good. But it just don't feel right shooting alum., or carbs outa long bow. To me any way.... Each to his own....What spine shaft in woodies should I try with a 145 point??????
try #45-50 spine this is what i shoot out of my #48 good luck bro.

Hay Jeff!!!! Nice to hear from ya! Was ya able to get that bow home alright???
I have two Sequoias in that poundage range and like Jeff, when I use wood, I use 45-50.

50-55# with 160grn points... A friend has one & that's what he uses.
shoot around 470gr spined for a 47# bow just make sure it is bare shaft tuned.
I would have to say 50/55 that is what i shoot out of my Hill that is close to that it is 47# @27" and that is using a 125gr head 28" BOP I would think that you could even go up to 55/60 with a center cut bow and a tad heavier head.
With a center shot bow using FF material you will need a 65# spine arrow with 125 to 145 gr up front. add more weight up front and you will need a higher spine. Simple math,48# at your draw, go up one spine=55#, add 5# for center shot=60#, add 5# for modern string material=65#. If you go longer than 28"BOP you will have to go up in spine as well. Trust me it works. This is for wood arrows only.
