The leg bones from moose are good for this purpose,I guess leg bones from cattle can be used also. I posted a thread way back in July 2004 named Arrow with a bone head, perhaps it can still be found doing a search. Just use a bandsaw or hacksaw blade, files and sandpaper.

Bue...how well do they hold up ? Can I make a slightly smaller version for small game, like rabbits ?

Doug Campbell used one made from a Bison leg bone to kill a deer, worked great. You can read about it in the 2004 highlights. Joseph

I have never hunted with bow and arrow since bowhunting is not permitted in my country, so I don`t know if they can take a hit on a rib bone.On a small game animal like rabbit I feel confident they would zip right through. You can of course make them in any size you like. From finds we know they were used in Norway uptill around 4-500 AD. Bue--.
