Yesterday it was blowing 15-30 mph but mainly from the NNW. Today its down to 3-4 mph but the only direction it hasn't blown in the last hour is from the SW. It's swinging about 270 degrees. How in the heck to plan a blind or treestand for that ? :knothead:
I hate days like that! But you gotta try...times awastin'.
I hear ya brother. All of my stands that are close, within 2 hours are North Wind stands. I have a pop up blind with scent block that is going up in the morning if there is still a south wind.
I have been working on two dogwood shafts with stone points today and they will be in my quiver tomorrow.

Most of my hunting spots have winds that are swirling and changing all the time. I just do the best I can.
I hate the hard winds. Especaily when they are wipng around. I think that might be the best time to hunt standig corn fields.
We have had some strange winds a lot this season around here. I was busted two different time in the same spot on different days by swirling winds :banghead: I hate that, then we had a number of days that we had winds out of the SW that ruined my plans for the places i wanted to hunt.
Wastin Daylight Mickey....Give em Heaven
i'll tell ya what, ferret. i have been trying to hunt this wind for a week now and today it quits all together for the gunners?????
Light and variable, I stay home and shoot the bow instead. We had about 3 days like that this season. Shawn
Get ahold of Joe Skipp and get a bottle of his "Cover-Up" 4 day formula!!!!!
It comes in a variaty of scents,so far I've tried "Sweet Earth","Cedar Woods",and this weekend I'm trying "Pine Forest".
This stuff works GREAT!!!!! I've had deer within FEET of me with the wind blowing directly at them, and they gave NO indication of having any idea I was there!!!!!
(FYI.....I had a guy in a "scent-lock" suit fart inside of a pick-up truck with us.....We had to roll all of the windows down LOL)
Mickey, !!! I agree with Vance, your wastein daylight. :saywhat:
